Job Scams : Inside India's Daunting Job Rackets.

Job scammers are by far the biggest contributor to the current economic instability of an average unemployed Indian youth. Remove the scammers from our midst and you'd once again be able to pay your rent.

Now, to explain in brief as to how the system works and how using a little of your intellect you'd be able to recognise the next time you're getting duped. Or, maybe just learn the art yourself, (Although, I wouldn't recommend so), come let me take you through

A REALISTIC HYPOTHETICAL STORY OF BUILDING A RACKET FROM GROUND UP.

* Get In The Shoes.

The best way to understand is through an hypothetical situation. Imagine yourself being.    Mr. A.   Now, you are devising a plan to make some fast dough in that devilish brain of your's. Suddenly, you start grining. You take a pen and a piece of paper and you start writing

1. A disposable SIM Card.
2. A Payment Recival Method. (Google Pay, Bank        A/C No. and IFSC Code, Bhim UPI, etc.)
3. An E-mail address.
4. A Database

Hmm, A database. You think about that for a while. Then, You open up your laptop and go to shine.com, olx.com, quikr.com, monster.com, naukri.com, indeed.com, freshersworld.com and glassdoor.com
And you create a profile/advert named XYZ Consultancy Services and register as a recruiter.

Boom! Suddenly you have access to the personal  details of thousands of unemployed Indian Youths desperate for livelihood.
So, you open up MS Word and you paste the details of you prey in 3 columns. Name, Number and e-mail address.
Then, You Make yourself comfortable in your chair, plug in your earphones, take a deep breath, relax your voice and you start, knowing that Edison failed 10,000 times but trusting that the Indian Economy would be generous to you.

You dial the first number, sound professional. But fail.
Each call lasting for about under a minute.
And, Suddenly the 20th call goes as you wanted!
  "
Mr. A - Hello, Is this Mr. B speaking?
   Mr. B - Yes, Who's this?
Mr. A - B, I am calling from - -.com. You have put up your resume on the site. You're looking for a job as a in the aviation industry. Can I know your present location?
Mr. B - Yes, I am from Guwahati.
Mr. A - Ok, Mr B. What's your highest qualification?
   Mr. B - Higher Secondary
Mr. A - Ok, There are 6 vacancies available at LGB International Airport for Ticketing Executive and Front Desk Clerk.    Mr. B - Yes, sir. I am.

  Mr. B - Ok, sir.
Mr. A - Ok, Good day to you.
                                                     "

You put down the phone, Mail a template of a professional looking form along with professional titled UPI addresses and Account details.
Wait. 5 mins. 10. And a Gpay notification appears.
You block the number, The email, the UPI address, And the deed is done and dusted.

Image : Examples Of Fake Jobs.

With a little bit of arithmetic we see that duping at a target of even 5 persons a day @1600 gives
        1600 x 5 = ₹8,000.
And in a month,
        8,000 x 30 = ₹2,40, 000.

                             * The Diversity

With a scope like that, there's thousands and thousands of consultancies and recruiting firms coming up. If you listen closely while taking some of these calls, you'll hear a Wall Street kind of rumbling of many people reciting the same thing over various phones.
The Main Objective : Seperate You From Your Money.

Going Full On Is easy. A Commercial 1200 ft office space can be found in prime locations at Tier 2 cities for as low as ₹4000 per month. Place 1 exceptionally well talented student in 100, while duping other 99 and suddenly Your company is legit (only with a success rate of 1/100, But that doesn't matter.)

Hundreds of telecaller work for incentives at these firms. I've found woman to be more dominant in this segment. Upto 80% of calls are from a girl/woman. They have good socialising and conversational skills and they have a trust factor associated with them.
I respect women. But, the fact stands.
Incidentally, on the day of writing this I uploaded my resumé of just a High School student with no experience to shine.com.
And, I got an upwards of 30 calls. Got an idea of the age group and people they target? All were scams and each one a girl. Here is a screenshot

The accents of Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana, Assam particularly stand out, but that is in no way a limiting factor.

The current trends as can be seen is of copying Logo's of reputed firms eg. Himalaya, Hindustan Unilever, KFC, Domino's, Nestle, Jio, Or Public location's as a particular airport, MNC's, 4 star hotels, security guards And of course the Legendary Front/Back office Clerk/Receptionist/Associate etc.
And, In the hundreds of calls I have received for Part time/ Data entry jobs I've yet to come across even one that doesn't require of me a handsome registration fees. If you see a work from home/ data entry, do 2 these 2 things. EXIT. UNINSTALL.

The requirements of such jobs would be such that it'd be impossible for the prey to not qualify.
Class V - Pg. Wow.
Experience - 0 to 10 years. Ok.
Location - India. Yeah.Yeah.
Proficient in Hindi and English. It's 2019! Everyone knows that!

Damn, why? Why don't you guys focus on like Britain Or Europe for example?!!

                      * The Effects Of Such

Last year above 15 million Indian Youths participated in the Indian Railways recruitment drive for just a few thousand number of seats majority of which was a diverse range of sweeping and cleaning activities.
Now, what do they do?

The government wants us to turn to the private sector. But, how does the private sector get in contact with the public?

It is an seemingly impossible task. Not many MSME and small chains have the potential to post ads in state and national newspapers regularly. And every app and website in the internet is so saturated with fraudulent offers that it results in the hiring of unskilled employees resulting in a direct reduction of gross output of a company.
Just Imagine how much difference it make for the private players who could find their required skill domain without being overshadowed.

But, the skilled people, where do they go?
Well, I've been living on the streets for the past week.     So, you know.
